Historically, society has presented black men in a stereotypical and unfavorable light. The presupposed image of being violence-prone, criminal, lazy, and unintelligent. These damaging stereotypes have affected educational outcomes, employment opportunities, socioeconomic status, and the dismantling of black families and communities.
The Gentlemen’s Toast hopes to help dispel these narratives. By creating a unifying mindset, we hope to promote a more accurate and positive image of black men and step up to the plate to cater to their needs.
The mission of the Gentlemen’s Toast is to create a safe place where black men—who are family-oriented, working professionals—can connect with like-minded men, network with other business professionals, and engage in unbridled dialogue about topics that impact them.
